Clever Hippo: A Better Search Tool for Facebook Apps (Mashable)

Mashable covers Clever Hippo, a search engine for Facebook applications. As I’ve written about before, Facebook is pitifully weak as a search engine, so it’s not surprising to see other services trying to help Facebook along here.

Especially useful on Clever Hippo is reviewing popular searches on that engine, and then perusing the results that come up for those searches. There’s a lot to it though, as Mashable reports:

Once you’ve entered a search term, the results are displayed rather
nicely. For each application, you can see how many total users there
are, as well as the percentage of daily actives. You can also see when
the application was last updated and the terms that match your search
query. A pull down menu allows you to quickly change the way you would
like to sort the results with the aforementioned options. Additionally,
for most apps there is a magnifying glass you can mouse over to see a
preview of what the application looks like.
