Tickle Me Google

Think you’re a comedian? Try to make Google laugh with the Google Laugh Rank, courtesy of Google Blogoscoped.

I tried a scaled down version of a joke my dad loves to tell, and apparently Google didn’t love it (though my dad and I both tell it better):

You know, that reminds me of my three-legged pig.
I was asleep when my house caught fire and the pig jumped through the
window and rescued me. Dragged me out by my collar, just as the smoke
was overwhelming me.
Three legs you ask?
Well, you can’t eat a pig like that all at once!

Sorry, Google doesn’t laugh at this.

The joke’s funniness percentage is: 46.1905%

The joke’s popularity is: 3.623
                (where 7=super popular, 1=not popular)

Not surprisingly, Google didn’t think this was funny:
A Mechanical Engineer, an Electrical Engineer, and a Software Engineer are riding down a hill in a car. Suddenly the brakes go out and the car speeds out of control. After a few tense minutes, they’re able to steer the car into a field and coast to a stop. Immediately, the Mechanical Engineer gets out of the car and begins inspecting the brake lines, the rotors, etc while the Electrical Engineer starts checking the wiring. The Software Engineer gets out of the car, looks around a bit, and turns to the other two. “Let’s push it back up the hill and see if it happens again.”
    But it LOVED this one:
A nun walks into a bar, with a dachsund under one arm and a salami under the other.
(Note that this isn’t an actual joke. But if I were ever to write one I’d start with it because it has the makings of a real rib ticker.)
