Brought to you by: AI Marketing Tools to Save You💰 & ⏰

Here’s a roundup of what’s been going on and what’s ahead this past week.
First off, next week, I’m trying something new and giving a paid talk on AI marketing tools. It’s a showcase of so much of the great tech and a lot of best practices I’ve been pulling together, much of which I’m an avid user of. It’s only $49, and if it doesn’t wind up giving you a few new ideas to run with or saving you a chunk of time, I’ll refund the price of admission.
Even if you can’t make it Tuesday, all attendees will get the slides and video. Hope you can join me there. https://lu.ma/aitools
Next, I did an interview with Caroline McCarthy, and I didn’t realize I got to be the very first Q&A on their blog. I wound up talking a lot about how GenAI fits in with various forms of marketing:
The AI algorithms known as large language models (LLMs) are getting their information from several ways, such as publicly available digital data, sources that the LLM’s owner pays for (e.g., OpenAI doing a deal with Axel Springer), and search engines (Google runs Bard, ChatGPT plugs into Bing). While LLMs can hallucinate (make things up), most of the info is coming from other sources, so having strong SEO and PR programs may prove to be more important than ever to ensure that a given brand is the source of truth for the LLMs.
Be sure to read the full interview if you can’t get enough of all my hot and cold AI takes. ALSO… this is the very first time I found a great nugget of info by searching the exact date of a website’s change via the Wayback Machine at Archive.org (hint: it’s one of Google’s products). Can you fault me for being a little proud of that one?
Alright, next up, I was at a little show called CES last week. I shared some slides with my show recap, specifically around AI & brands, on LinkedIn, but this version is more current, so download away.
And if that all wasn’t enough, there’s yet another AI event next week where I get to share a few things. About AI. And stuff. It’s free, 1/25 12pm EST both in-person in Brooklyn and hybrid, with Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce. Thanks Caitlin Kelly for the referral! RSVP here.
Oh, and one more heads up for you…
Our next First Wednesday, Feb 7, is sponsored by Nostra.ai, which turns customers info visitors, faster. It’ll be a nice one. Meet them, and catch up with your old FW friends. RSVP: https://lu.ma/firstwed
I thought CES was exhausting, but somehow this newsletter makes me even exhausteder.
Hope you have a restful weekend, hope to see you at one of these events virtually or in the flesh.
David
