“What ingredients would you put in an AI sandwich?”
That’s what David Brown, Knotch’s Head of Strategy, asked me during a webinar this week, which you can find on YouTube.
I said, and I’m paraphrasing both of us David B’s here, “With apologies to the vegans on the call, it would definitely have bacon.”
(Happy Rosh Hashanah to everyone celebrating the Jewish New Year tonight, by the way.)
It was a follow-up question from a point I made a bit earlier in the session, where I shared the stage with Gisele Góes, Director, Organic Growth at Chime and Jamie Roô, Head of Wealth Management Digital Content at Morgan Stanley. After some comments by Gisele and Jamie, I said something like this:
“It sounds like you’re talking about an AI sandwich. You start with human insights and deliver the messaging through human relationships, and then in the middle, you have AI speeding things up and letting you get more done.”
I asked Claude to give me a detailed breakdown of what would go in such a sandwich, and it got very detailed once I properly described what I was talking about. The sandwich, however, was vegetarian.
I asked, “What if I want bacon?”
Claude said, “Ah, an excellent question! If we want to add some bacon to our metaphorical AI sandwich, I think that could represent: Robotics – since bacon comes from pigs, and robots have some pig-like qualities of rolling around in mud/grease. The crispiness of the bacon also represents the precise mechanical movements of robots.”
Sometimes, Claude gets a little too literal.
It’s been quite a week for events. The AI Marketers Guild hosted our first Startup Showcase event in NYC, thanks to Len Bilello and the team at USA Today. We had 5 terrific companies take part, which you should check out:
The next day, we had the kickoff of the AI Insiders series. It’s a virtual event where we’ll bring the community together to hear from speakers and learn from each other. For this one, we had all five of those companies present. You can watch it on YouTube; we’ll give it a proper edit and intro soon.
After that, it was a visit with our Knotch friends followed by a podcast interview I’ll share in a few weeks. And then I had to kick back and play a level of Super Mario Odyssey on the Switch because Mario does not remotely care what I think about AI.
AIMG’s community is now up to about 500 members. We have a newsletter, AI Marketing Intel, with nearly 1,000 subscribers. The kinds of people who were in the physical and virtual rooms this week floored me. A big part of the value proposition is that as people in the community are looking for expertise in how to apply AI tools and strategies, there are others there who can help.
There’s so much more to do, and way more to learn. I hope to get to learn from you too, so if you’re not part of AIMG yet, be sure to join us there. Just reply here if you want access.
Again, to all celebrating, enjoy your bacon apples and honey tonight. If you’re not celebrating, you may appreciate this piece from the NY Times on what everyone, not just Jews, can learn from this holiday.
Time to finish making my apple honey challah bread pudding for tonight. See you next week — and for some of you, next year.
David
