Fine, I’m hooked. I had no clue what to write about, so I started searching like mad on this movie. Even if this column isn’t quite as scholarly as some others lately, it’s sometimes helpful to take a micro-level look at a very specific topic. The engines impressed me with how they treated the film.
One other interesting point: a reader commented that it perhaps wasn’t fair to dissect the buzz for this film since it was rated R. Yet the pundits were expecting more money from this movie too, if you count Hollywood Stock Exchange users as pundits. I regret not thinking of this until now, but if you check out HSX, or just click the graph to the left, you’ll see that as buzz for the film peaked, traders thought the movie might wind up with over $50 million.
