  1. Conferences and Events

See you at any of these fall conferences?

It’s a busy event season coming up. Let me know if you’ll be at any of these conferences and events the next few weeks. Also, I have the next edition of my Serially Sporadic newsletter coming out this week, so feel free to share any events with me for that; I don’t need to be attending to feature them (though a personal connection to the event is always nice).
* eMARKETER ATTENTION
October 25, NYC
Given the recent sale of eMarketer to Axel Springer, I’m hoping they rename this event next year to “Oktoberfest.” Or maybe “Achtung, Ramsey.” (eMarketer CEO Geoff Ramsey is featured in the image here.)
* THE SCALE COLLECTIVE
November 2, NYC
This event supporting women entrepreneurs marks the public debut of Virago, a strategic advisory firm supporting female-founded technology startups.
* YEXT’S LOCATION WORLD
November 2-3, NYC
Sorry, CEOs of Yext, Foursquare, and Yodle, plus all the amazing brands on stage. The session I’m most excited for above all is the keynote starring Leslie Odom, Jr – aka the originator of Aaron Burr (sir) in “Hamilton.” And yes, he will perform.  As for my session, I’ll be talking about geoadvertising with Dan Adams of Pitney Bowes and Walter Geer of Verve Mobile.
* 212NYC’s IOT: CONNECTED DEVICES – ARE ADVERTISERS READY?
November 7, NYC
At this Internet of Things event, I have a feeling I’m going to be talking way too much about what it’s like to have an internet-connected air freshener (yes, P&G’s Febreze makes one).
* INBOUND 2016
November 9, Boston
I’m giving a talk Wednesday afternoon on “A CMO’s Survival Guide from a Marketer’s Marketer.” Drop me a line if you’ll be around. You may also run into Alec Baldwin, fresh off his star turn as… no, I refuse to make any election references in this newsletter.
* 4A’S CREATETECH
November 9-10, NYC
This is an annual highlight, and I’m rushing back from Inbound to catch the second half of this (sorry, Alec). It’s wonky, multi-disciplinary, and one of the better-programmed events you’ll get to. Discount code CT25 gives you 25% off.
* CHATBOTS: THE NEXT GREAT FRONTIER
November 16, NYC
PluggedIn BD is hosting a roundtable on bots, and already so many of the best bot practitioners are taking part, including representatives from Block Party, TopBot, Snaps, x.ai, and others. Join this breakfast event to meet the who’s who in this emerging field.
