Marc Cote started by saying he wasn’t going to mention Project Panama at all. Instead, he wanted to talk about social media marketing, “the ultimate merger of influence.” People turn to friends & family, media & information source, and marketing when seeking information, and social media marketing’s in the middle. It’s important primarily because consumers trust other customers.
He brought up some of Yahoo!’s, well, assets toward this end, like del.icio.us, Flickr, Yahoo Answers!, My Web, and basically half my emerging media presentation, which makes me feel better about going last so I can tie everything in later.
