Facebook Beacon Ad Update: Oozing with Irony

Given the barrage of comments on the recent post Facebook Social Ads Need an Opt Out, I updated the post and it’s really too good to share buried there (though PLEASE go there and read the comments if you want a year’s worth of great discussion within a single post). Thanks CK for the idea to publish this as its own post.

Below is another example of a Social Ad via Facebook Beacon, and in this one the member is
inadvertently promoting Jackass, which may or may not be his cup of
tea.

Added irony: On the page where the ad appeared, I was writing someone from MoveOn.org about this issue.

So much irony it’s oozing out of every orifice

Yes, yes, oozing. Oozing with irony.
At some point this will catch up to them. People will wake up and realize they are being somewhat used while not being paid.
Is Blockbuster giving you anything for being a fan? Discounts? Doubt it.
Note to CK. I beat you here to make the first comment, sister. HA.

I signed up to be a fan of Marketer’s Studio, and all I got was this lousy oozing irony.

Just for that, Ike, you’re going to be featured in this blog’s ad campaigns in perpetuity, whether you’re a fan, a detractor, or anything in between.
